Hello crafty kids! 🎨
Did you know that lots of stuff in your home comes in cardboard boxes? Instead of throwing those boxes away, we can turn them into something amazing — like a photo frame!
Making this frame is a fun way to help the Earth by reusing things we already have. Ready to get creative and make your own picture holder? Let’s go!
🧰 What You’ll Need:
🛠️ How to Make Your Frame:
Step 1:
Cut out leaf shapes from your colourful paper, foam, or felt. Make them different sizes! Also, cut out small circles in different sizes — these will be decorations.
Step 2:
Use your ruler to cut a photo frame shape from the cardboard. Make it about 6 inches wide and 7 inches tall.
Step 3:
Cut out the inside part of the frame, leaving about a 1-inch border all around. Now place this frame on one of your coloured A4 papers and cut the paper to fit so you can fold the edges neatly around the frame.
Step 4:
Glue the coloured paper all over the frame, folding the edges around the back so it looks neat.
Step 5:
Cut another cardboard piece a little smaller than the frame’s size and cover it with the same coloured paper. Then cut three small cardboard strips and glue them to three sides on the back of the frame to create a little space. Glue the smaller cardboard piece on top of these strips — this space will hold your photo!
Step 6:
Take a strip of black paper and roll it into a thin reed shape.
Step 7:
Curve the reed gently and glue it onto one side of the frame’s border.
Step 8:
Glue your leaf shapes on both sides of the reed and stick your small circles on the other side — like pretty decorations!
Step 9:
To make the frame stand up, cut an ‘A’ shaped piece from cardboard and glue it to the back.
If you want to hang your frame, you can also glue a loop of string to the back.
And that’s it! Your beautiful, eco-friendly photo frame is ready to hold your favorite picture. Hang it up or put it on your desk and show off your craft skills!
